Gentle giant
The largest ape is the mountain gorilla in Africa. An average male stands 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in) tall and weighs about 195 kg (430 lb), with a massive chest of 1.5 m (5 ft). Gorillas are very gentle but very strong. Scientists have worked out that a two-year old gorilla's arms are about three times stronger than a two-year old child's.
