Going home
Some animals are able to find their way back home even over very long distances. In 1979 a doctor in the USSR found and looked after an injured hedgehog. She later gave it to her granddaughter who lived in another town. Two months later she found the hedgehog sitting on her doorstep again. It had walked 77 km (48 miles) back home, much further than a hedgehog would usually go.
