Pancreas purposes
Your pancreas is a thin, triangular gland, about 15cm (5.8in) long. It makes insulin which controls the level of sugar in your blood. Insulin is made in small cell clusters, called Islets of Langerhans, shown below. There are about one million islets in your pancreas. Your pancreas also makes digestive juices.
