Which crickets like to make a noise?
The mole cricket spends much of its time burrowing underground. On summer nights, it makes a burrow that is just the right shape to increase the noises it makes. (This is the same shape that humans have come up with to make their stereo amplifiers!). The cricket sits in the entrance singing continuously. The amplifier is so successful that the cricket can be heard a mile away.
