How many reptiles do people kill every year?
It's not possible to say, but we are more dangerous to reptiles than they are to us! Most of the large tortoises, that used to inhabit remote islands, have been hunted to extinction, and countless smaller reptiles have been lost because of habitat destruction. Today most marine turtles, and most crocodiles, are so rare that they are nearly extinct. A large number of lizards and snakes are in the same position.
