Are reptiles good, caring parents?
Not usually! Most reptiles don't look after their families at all, so the babies have to fend for themselves. Baby reptiles are like small copies of their parents. Most are born from eggs laid by the mother. They hatch out of the egg, fully formed and ready to go. They may be a different color from the adults, and often feed on different food for a while, but for a young reptile, independence is the name of the game.
