Why do reptiles have a curvy walk?
Most reptiles have legs that stick out from the sides of their bodies. They always use diagonal limbs (left front foot, right hind foot) together. Because of this, they swing their bodies into a big curve, which makes it easy for them to take a long stride. Even reptiles, like snakes and some lizards, that have no legs at all, move in a series of curves. Small crocodiles may gallop, but other reptiles never do, even when they are going as fast as they can. However, some lizards can run on their hind legs.
