Drift nets are enormous nets used for commercial fishing. They cover huge areas, often reaching right down to the sea-bed. The nets trap and kill many other sea creatures, as well as fish especially dolphins, porpoises, sharks, and turtles. Drift nets have been banned in most countries, but are still used illegally.
