Bombardier beetles store chemicals in a special chamber in their body. If they are attacked, the chemicals react to produce a boiling hot mixture that can blister skin. These are shot, like explosives, from a nozzle in the body. They are so hot that they become an irritating gas cloud that repels an attacker.
