When the rains come, females lay lots of eggs and thousands of new locusts are born. All the locusts join together, and soon thousands of them are moving forward. By the time they get wings, as adults, they may have eaten all the food in the area. After destroying all the crops there, they fly off again and the terrifying swarm of locusts arrives somewhere else to strip the land of vegetation.
